Very good reminders. Our founding ancestors warned us. It is tyranny, totalitarianism, fascism, dictatorship - whatever term gets the point across. Just because the methods are "modern" doesn't mean any of this is new. Medical/health tyranny is very possibly worse than others. Our economic systems have been giant ponzi schemes, our constitution lies in tatters, we are played by political grifters/opportunists who serially abuse us. It seems tyranny in the Middle Ages, in WW II, etc probably didn't feel different. Taking care of our own health is vitally important.

Yep - Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams & company were admirable human beings. Faults, yes, but they understood how to form a government of the people. They were also all land owners and farmers - they were from well-to-do families but there was more commonality of experience among the people. There was dynamic and forceful communication and an understanding of trade-offs. They knew tyranny was likely to come from within. But today it is within and without. The political powers in DC are errand boys and girls.

Fear is under our control however. Fear is the first thing to be dispensed with to overcome tyranny. The oligarchs bet on fear. But they are cowards and live in fear themselves of being exposed, ruined. Thomas Jefferson said he "preferred dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery". He also said "We're all gun men".
