A good book to while away the time while we wait, for anybody who's interested... "Area 51", by Annie Jacobsen.

A high school friend went on to be a consultant for the Pentagon determining how many Americans would be incinerated from a atomic bomb destroying cities around the USA in the 1960's. Duck and Cover is useless when humans are reduced to basic carbon. He became wealthy with his consulting business.

Yeah, that was my point... I grew up in that era, too, although I was fortunate enough to live away from the cities that would have been likely targets. Not to be too morbid about it, but I think I'd rather have the damn thing go off directly overhead, than to deal with the consequences afterwards. Having a belief in God and an afterlife helps.

sigh. I wish I could laugh, but I am too tired.. there was no Rapture and there won't be a rapture. IMHO and I am long time Christian. The Revelation does not say there is a Rapture. nor does the Bible. but what I do know.? I do know this.. I am getting to the front of the Pew.. these days.. which means I could be actually going home.. as in absent from the body,, is to be present w/ God. signed aka Jesus Freak. :) or I may be here for a while.. just tired now.

I wonder just how long a person could survive in an isolated bunker, in a real nuclear winter. No power, nobody to bring them food, nobody to clean their houses, garden won't grow there either. Maybe they could hide in the dark and cold and eat unheated freeze-dried food that's been reconstituted with sea water for a while? Doesn't sound very appealing. (Meanwhile, the rest of us would be enjoying life on the Other Side, Heaven, Paradise... That Place by whatever name we know it.)

How long before they start "eating" each other, as these people will need entertainment.

Jobama is a criminal and a fraudster. His extra US holdings give him a backdoor.

Nuclear holocaust might actually be scatter bomb holocaust but the end results are the same.

Oligarchs have divested of assests. Bezos, Gates, Zuck. That speaks volumes.

"Doesn't anyone in DC understand that we are inching closer to a nuclear winter that will last for decades?"

I wdnt put it past the DC idiots that they think they can have a "just big enough" nuclear exchange to solve the climate change problem.

For some reason, the Carrington Event comes to mind. Does anyone here understand the ramifications of another direct hit from the Sun? We're due...
